App Store screenshot validator: a practical handoff checklist
A technically valid screenshot still needs to show the actual app clearly. Use this checker as one step in the release process, alongside a real device or simulator capture and App Store Connect’s preview.
Before you export
- Capture the correct device layout, language and app version.
- Select the matching device preset and orientation.
- Check dimensions, PNG alpha information and actual file format.
- Review cropping, text legibility and any upscaling warning.
- Inspect every language and screen sequence before submission.
Supported presets
This version includes selected Dynamic Island iPhone sizes, 13-inch iPad and iPhone Duo displays. It does not cover every Apple device. Accepted alternative sizes and both orientations are checked for each supported preset. Exports use the preset’s primary size.
A resize is not a device adaptation
Padding or cropping a phone screenshot does not demonstrate that your app works on a different display. Capture the app running in the intended layout. Screenshot counts and full localization coverage are not audited in this version because a batch may mix devices and languages.
